Black History Month Presentation
By Dalyn Montgomery
During Black History Month, we often laud the first African American to achieve any particular thing, as well as we should, but we often stop there, as if that is the end of the story. Please join us for a presentation from Dalyn Montgomery, Director of Alumni Marketing Strategy Analytics, as he presents his research on “who came next,” or the second African American doctor, lawyer, college graduate, police officer, firefighter, elected official, military officer, and so-on. This next chapter is often surprising and more broadly applicable. Dalyn’s findings both illustrate the undeniable capability of the African diaspora and uncover a historical pattern of resistance that has been held in America across industry, geography, and time.

Emotional intelligence (EI) is the ability to identify and manage one’s own emotions as well as the emotions of others. This session addresses the competencies needed for high-level emotional intelligence and skills necessary for that achievement.
Psychological Safety Training
This course is designed to provide steps to cultivate a culture of psychological safety within your team. With more people working remotely or in a hybrid work model psychological safety helps team members adapt to new ways of working. It also builds trust and transparency, improves health and well-being, employee engagement, retention, productivity, and innovation. Training employees and managers on psychological safety in the workplace and what it means in their day-to-day activities reinforces UCR’s commitment to a culture of trust, respect, and inclusion.
